Toppers and Trailers Plus is seeking an energetic service technician with shop experience.  We sell truck toppers, snowplows, truck accessories and a wide variety of trailers, so a good working knowledge of these areas would be very helpful.

We have been in business since 1986 and currently have 2 locations.  This position would be for our Mankato store.

This position is a full-time position, Monday-Friday during the summer and Saturdays 9am-3pm during the fall/winter.  We will consider a part time position for the right candidate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General mechanic tasks include but not limited to: install truck accessories, trailers repair, truck bed installation, snowplows repair and installation, spray in bedliners, hitch installation, wiring, brakes, axles, and trouble shooting/diagnostics.
• Utilizes basic hand tools and machines including but not limited to: power drill, welder, vehicle lifts, forklifts.
• Maintains productive working relationships with all team members.
• Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, and techniques.
• Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations.
• Completes all required paperwork legibly.
• Performs clean up and shop organization daily.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager or service writer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two or more years related experience or equivalent.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
• Ability to identify colors – preferred
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and assembly drawings.
• Familiarity with various mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.
• Commitment to excellence and high standards.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Walk, kneel, bend, crawl, stoop, reach, and stand on a regular basis.
• This position is very physically demanding with lots of large muscle movement.
• Lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally 75-100 pounds with help.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Sturdy boots are required.
• A large percentage of work time is spent in the shop and/or outside, working with and around heavy
  and dangerous equipment. The shop is climate controlled, but be prepared for a variety of conditions.
• The noise level can be moderate to high.
• Uniform service is available and required,  we also provide sweatshirts to be worn during the winter, along with shop towels/rags to use.

Anticipated hours per week: 40-55 hours per week

Compensation:

$50,000+ depending on experience and overtime
